Keeping with a coveted Academy of Our Lady tradition the annual National Honor Society Induction was held Thursday evening November 17 in the gym. Family and friends were in attendance to see 16 students receive recognition for their academic achievements.
In order to be inducted as a member of the National Honor Society students must meet the following criteria of Scholarship - maintaining at least a 3.75 cumulative GPA at the beginning of sophomore year and have taken either two honors or dual enrollment courses during 10th through 12th grades; Leadership – students actively participate in at least two clubs; Service – students perform quality service hours in accordance with Religion Department guidelines; Character - no major discipline infractions and teacher recommendations. Applicants are reviewed by a faculty committee who determines the final list of candidates.
