Academy of Our Lady students were offered the opportunity to participate in the Knights of Columbus Catholic Citizenship Scholarship Contest. Three students were honored as winners and one student for participation by the Knights of Columbus Archbishop Blenk Council 1905 Gretna.
Sophomore Jaden Armond was named the sophomore division winner, New Orleans Diocesan Winner and State First Place Winner receiving $500. Her essay will be submitted in the national competition.
Senior Morgann Williams was named the winner for the senior division, junior Katie Harlow was named the winner in the junior division and junior Mindy Harlow received recognition for her participation in the contest.
Participants were asked to discuss how trusting in God during a difficult time has helped them or someone they know find the strength and hope to endure it.
Grand Knight AJ Chauvin, Jr and Trustee Rory Cadres were proud to present the students with their awards on campus February 2.
