Academy of Our Lady welcomed more than 100 future penguins to campus on December 3 for Open House. Guests met with Principal Sr. Michelle Geiger, toured campus with a faculty and student guide, viewed academic offerings and ended the evening in the gym with club and athletic displays. Academy of Our Lady's Theatre II class is proud to present Breaking Barriers: A One Act Play that is a powerful and well-researched depiction of the lives of Amelia Earhart, Marie Curie, Annie Oakley, Clara Barton and Jane Austen on November 6 at 7:00 pm. Academy of Our Lady’s math department and leadership class are excited to host the Ultimate Thanksgiving Competition on November 13! Girls in 6th and 7th grade are invited to join us on campus for an evening filled with fun and challenging leadership and math games. For girls in grades 4-7 Penguin Palooza is a night filled with all things Academy of Our Lady Penguins! This year's theme is Penelope's Academy Awards. Held Friday, April 3 at 6:30 - 9:00 pm guests will participate in performances, games, crafts and more! The cost to attend is $10 which includes a t-shirt, pizza and dessert. Student Council and the Language department hosted a Fantastic Friday Night for girls in 4th-6th grade. Leadership Night on the Polar Express was the theme for the evening. Students took part in various activities including creating ornaments with characteristics of a leader labeled on them for the leadership tree, decorating gingerbread cookies, learning team building techniques by participating in a snowball fight, writing Christmas jingles and making Christmas cards for the elderly. Academy of Our Lady’s annual Open House was held on Thursday, November 7. More than 130 prospective students and their families toured the Academy of Our Lady’s state-of-the-art campus, gained insight into the challenging college preparatory curriculum, learned more about the unique elective offerings, perused extracurricular displays, met current students and experienced the Salesian family spirit. Activities included creating an original Halloween song, making treats in the culinary lab, crafting Mary Mazzarello keychains, learning to apply stage makeup and performing a Halloween dance routine. Academy of Our Lady's Math, Science and Health Science departments hosted An Out of this World STEM Adventure on September 13. More than 80 girls in 4th-7th grade participated in STEM activities which included a space race scavenger hunt, polymer alien worms, stomp rockets, flame tests and so much more! More than 120 girls in 4th-7th grade took to Academy of Our Lady’s campus for Penguin Palooza on April 5. The night, filled with all things Academy of Our Lady, included a performance by the Academy of Our Lady Cheerleaders, a penguin keychain craft, a school-wide escape room, games with Student Council, donuts and Pizza! Grow in faith and creativity! Girls in 4th-7th grade are invited to an evening filled with the arts and faith based activities hosted by Academy of Our Lady's Fine Arts and Religion departments on March 15. Activities include viewing a performance of Academy of Our Lady's production of Little Shop of Horrors, making dirt cake in the culinary lab, creating St. Therese sacrifice beads and so much more!
