Every year students enrolled in Physics are assigned the Egg Drop project. Students are required to design and build a device that will protect an egg from three drops which includes 1 m, 2 m and 5.5 m otherwise known as the roof of the school building. Mu Alpha Theta observed Pi Day with a weeklong celebration beginning March 9-13. Founded in 1988, Pi Day is an international holiday celebrated around the world. The numbers in the date 3/14 match the first three digits of the mathematical constant pi. Lunchtime activities included pie-a-teacher, relay race pie eating contest and friend vs friend pie eating contests. The math honor society raised more than $300 which will be utilized to purchase pencils, paper and rules for a classroom in need. Click on the title of this post to view photos.

March 23 marks the start of Academy of Our Lady faculty and students’ second week of distance learning due the COVID-19 social distancing measures. Academy of Our Lady’s annual spring fundraiser Baskets & BBQ Bash was held Saturday, March 7. Attendees enjoyed delicious food, an Easter egg hunt, pictures with the Easter bunny, great music and fantastic prizes. For girls in grades 4-7 Penguin Palooza is a night filled with all things Academy of Our Lady Penguins! This year's theme is Penelope's Academy Awards. Held Friday, April 3 at 6:30 - 9:00 pm guests will participate in performances, games, crafts and more! The cost to attend is $10 which includes a t-shirt, pizza and dessert. Girls and boys ages 3-12 are invited to join Academy of Our Lady for a summer of fun at Summer Camp! Two sessions will be available June 1-26 and July 6-24. Campers will participate in swimming, arts & crafts, sports, skits, water slide, music, field trips and more! Registration will take place in the front office on March 21 at 8 to 11 am.
