Seven Academy of Our Lady students were named to Archbishop Shaw’s 2020 Homecoming Court. Senior Olivia Marque was crowned queen while Senior Jacey Jones was crowned maid of honor at the annual homecoming football game on Saturday, November 14. Academy of Our Lady members of the homecoming court included freshman maid Kyree Ross, sophomore maid Makenzie Wood, junior maid Jayden Jackson, senior maid Cameron Haydel and senior maid Lindsey Scheibe. Senior Faith Hardy committed to play softball at Bishop State Community College in Mobile, Alabama on Wednesday, November 11. A signing ceremony was held on campus where Hardy’s parents, teammates and Academy of Our Lady coaches were on hand to show their support and celebrate her accomplishment. Members of Academy of Our Lady’s Stars and Stripes Club had the great privilege of observing Veterans Day in a very special way. On November 11, students traveled to East Jefferson Wellness Center to attend a flag ceremony where they honored and met veterans from various armed forces of the United States Military. Due to the shortened school year last year, the annual Honor Society Induction was not able to be held. Over the past few weeks Academy of Our Lady’s administration held small ceremonies to honor the new 19-20 school year members of the following honor societies Rho Kappa, National English Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and National French Honor Society.
