Academy of Our Lady's Student Council invites all girls and boys in 4th-7th grade to Super Leadership Night on October 12 at 6:30-9:00 pm! Students will participate in activities designed to identify and strengthen leadership skills. Ultimately, students will learn tools and key techniques essential to being a successful leader. Participants are encouraged to dress in their favorite superhero attire as there will be a best dressed contest! Registration for Fantastic Friday Night on October 12 is now closed. Students may register as a walk-in with a guardian at the door. The cost to attend is $5.00. Cash or check will be accpeted. Girls in grades 4-7 took to campus on September 14 for Fantastic Friday Night! The STEMlock Holmes themed evening was planned by the Math, Science and Health Science departments. Academy of Our Lady Student Council Officers, Class Officers and Homeroom Representatives were inducted following Mass on September 12. Student Council members took a pledge in front of the student body to uphold their positions while keeping Catholic Christian values at the center of their decision making. Thirteen members of the Academy of Our Lady Power Struck Girls traveled to Baton Rouge on Saturday, August 25, to compete in the annual Red Stick Rumble hosted by Woodlawn High School. Twenty-eight teams with a total of thirty-four robots competed in this off-season event to get energized for the new school year and new robotics season. STEMlock Holmes activities include a math-themed escape room, finger printing, LED detective nametags, rollercoaster construction and more! Thalian Society, Academy of Our Lady’s drama club, held a benefit entitled Bits of Broadway in honor of Freshman Rylee Pizani. Rylee was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. The Academy of Our Lady community wanted to show support for Rylee and her family. Students and alumnae performed numbers from their favorite Broadway musicals for two performances on August 28. A total of $2,020 was raised for Rylee and her family. Our Academy of Our Lady Varsity volleyball team beat Carver in 3 sets on September 6th. The scores for the 3 sets were 25-6, 25-6, and 25-14. AOL's team leader in kills was Kacey Lyon with 7. The leader in digs was Emily Eschette with 4. Abbie Robichaux led the team in assists with 8. Kylie Howell and Emily Eschette led the team with 6 aces each.
