Job Description Academy of Our Lady is seeking a full-time Director of Alumni and Community Relations to foster relationships with constituents and manage school fundraising events. The Director of Alumni and Community Relations reports directly to the Director of Institutional Advancement and Admissions while working closely with the Advancement Team and school volunteers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead, plan, implement, execute, and evaluate, under the guidance of the Principal and the Director of Institutional Advancement and Admissions, all special events directed by The Office of Institutional Advancement. Events include, but are not limited to: Family Day, Fall Fest, Alumni Mass reception, Baskets & BBQ and an alumni event.
Devise and communicate strategies, manage volunteers, and track and report event progress.
Develop, cultivate, and steward an alumni and donor database including prospective donors.
Communicate regularly with alumni through mailings, email, and online magazine/newsletter.
Develop and implement donation strategies for current parents, grandparents, alumnae, and other members of the Academy of Our Lady community.
Meet with two donors/prospective donors per month cultivating relationships while soliciting and stewarding donors.
Oversee the Annual Appeal and other fundraising events.
Manage fundraising meetings.
Develop and maintain written fundraising materials in collaboration with the Director of Institutional Advancement and Institutional Advancement Coordinator.
Attend all parent meetings and encourage Academy of Our Lady constituents to participate and support events and fundraisers.
Assists with student supervision. This includes morning arrival and afternoon dismissal. Supervision at lunch when needed.
Assists at all Institutional Advancement events.
QUALIFICATIONS:
BS in communications, nonprofit fundraising, public relations or related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
At least three years of experience in fundraising and event planning.
Superb time management, organizational and communications skills, both verbal and written.
Proficiency in Google docs and Microsoft Office suite including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to oversee multiple projects independently.
Team oriented, confident, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Understanding of budgets, profits and loss, and general accounting practices.
Fiscal responsibility in line with the mission of Academy of Our Lady to ensure short and long term financial stability and success of the school.
