Academy of Our Lady Hires Kenneth Marroccoli to lead Athletic Program
Marrero, LA—Academy of Our Lady is pleased to announce Kenneth Marroccoli will assume the role of Athletic Director for the 2020-21 school year.
No stranger to the youth athletic world in New Orleans, Marroccoli brings with him more than 13 years of experience to Academy of Our Lady. He not only possesses expertise in coaching but also in leadership.
Marroccoli has previously served as director of parks and recreation for the city of Kenner for 12 years. Additionally, he has served as head volleyball coach and assistant club director for Cajunland Booster Club since 2007. In 2018, he began as assistant volleyball coach at the Academy of Sacred Heart.
“It is so exciting to welcome Mr. Marroccoli to the Academy of Our Lady family. The athletic program has such a solid foundation and has seen great success. We are confident Mr. Marroccoli can elevate the program to its ultimate potential and instill in our girls the values to live as lifelong Christians on and off the playing field,” Academy of Our Lady Principal Sr. Michelle Geiger said.
Marroccoli is eager to work with the students, faculty, staff and families at Academy of Our Lady. “I look forward to building relationships, great teams and a great experience for all,” Marroccoli explained. “I have been involved in athletics in one form or another for all my life and felt like Academy of Our Lady was the perfect fit. Meeting with Sr. Michelle and the rest of the administrative staff, I could feel their passion and enthusiasm in what they do.”
Furthermore, Marroccoli graduated from University of New Orleans and also has experience as a police officer, facilities director and security supervisor. He served in the United States Army for eight years.
Marroccoli is succeeding Coach Gabriela Huling who served as interim athletic director last year. Huling will reassume her role as assistant athletic director and faculty member.
