Faith is expressed in an ongoing relationship with God that is strengthened through prayer and the sacramental life. Our students are not only instructed in these important aspects of Christian life, but are given every opportunity to experience an environment permeated by faith.
Prayer and worship are woven into everyday life. School-wide liturgical celebrations, varied prayer experiences, celebrating the seasons of the liturgical year, class retreats, and monthly opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and other religious events are a regular part of life at the Academy.
Academy of Our Lady students are encouraged to participate in the liturgical life of their own parishes and have the opportunity to be prepared to serve as Lectors and as Eucharistic Ministers.
Living their faith also means Academy students are involved in community outreach. Service-immersion trips find them running a soup kitchen and lobbying Congress for the rights of the poor in Washington, D.C.; rebuilding homes in Appalachia; and running camps for Mayan migrant children in Miami. After Hurricanes Harvey, students came together to collect needed items for the affected people of Texas.
