Academy of Our Lady lives the Salesian family spirit of reason, religion, and loving kindness and instills in young women the values to live as Catholic Christians, the drive for life-long learning, and the skills to succeed as responsible citizens in society. This is our mission. We will not tolerate behavior, words or actions, that go against these values or do not uphold the dignity of the human person regardless of race, color, national and ethnic origin, or disability. Such actions will always be met with action by the administration.
The recent and tragic death of George Floyd is an intolerable violation against human dignity that has not left us indifferent. It has reminded us that the sin of racism remains a critical issue in society that must be addressed; that all life is precious because every human being is made in the image of God, with both dignity and value; that peaceful, non-violent protests are the right of all citizens.
We all carry the responsibility to pray, to act peaceably, to stand together against senseless brutality in non-violent ways that promote the dignity of all people.
Academy of Our Lady continues to be committed to educating young women of strong character and faith who will be catalysts for positive change, promoting what is just and right in our world.
"In the Gospel, there is no room for racism, violence or hatred." - Archbishop Aymond
We call of our families, students and alumni to join together in praying our family prayer.
Loving and faithful God, through the years the people of our archdiocese have appreciated the prayers and love of Our Lady of Prompt Succor in times or war, disaster, epidemic and illness. We come to you, Father, with Mary our Mother, and ask you to help us in the battle of today against violence,... murder and racism.
We implore you to give us your wisdom that we may build a community founded on the values of Jesus, which gives respect to the life and dignity of all people.
Bless parents that they may form their children in faith. Bless and protect our youth that they may be peacemakers of our time. Give consolation to those who have lost loved ones through violence.
Hear our prayer and give us the perseverance to be a voice for life and human dignity in our community.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us. Mother Henriette Delille, pray for us that we may be a holy family.
