Seventeen Academy of Our Lady students recently earned the Certified Nursing Aide certification by completing the required hours of training and successfully passing the competency evaluation required by the Louisiana Department of Health.
These students are currently taking Academy of Our Lady’s Health Occupation Internship II elective in addition to their required college preparatory curriculum. Academy of Our Lady offers the unique opportunity through various elective courses for students to gain hands-on experience and training prior to stepping foot on a university campus. These courses give students an academic advantage as they enter college to pursue a career in their chosen field. Other courses of study within the Program of Academic Majors include Law & Civil Leadership, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and Culinary Arts.
