Eighth Grade Retreat
Senior Lorynn Coulon, Academy of Our Lady
On September 20th, the pre-freshmen attended their first class retreat at the Holy Guardian Angels Church in Bridge City.
The Peer Ministers worked diligently to plan and lead the experience, hoping that the students would have an enjoyable and transformative time.
The theme of the retreat was fearless, which encouraged the pre-freshmen to put their fears aside and to live the life God intends for them, despite their fears.
While the retreat had many high energy activities, students were also asked to be serious, specifically during witness talks. Witness talks are an opportunity to share personal meaningful life experiences. Two Peer Ministers gave their witness talks giving pre-freshmen insight into the struggles of growing up and encouragement to persevere through challenges they may face throughout their high school years.
After eating lunch, students were then invited into church for individual time with God through adoration. After adoration, students returned to the activity center for a closing activity before returning to campus.
