Academy of Our Lady offers a true technological advantage to its students, preparing them to flourish in a digital world.
1:1 Device Ratio
Continuing the tradition of the 1:1 device ratio which began in 2007, the school provides every student and teacher with an Apple iPad. Onsite tech support is available through the school day. The school complies with the Children's Internet Filtering Act.
A wireless environment
Wireless internet is available throughout the campus, including every classroom. Each classroom also has 70 inch LCD televisions equipped with Apple TV which can be used to mirror the teacher or student’s iPad on the screen. Twenty-five network printers along with a 3D printer are available throughout the campus.
Every student, parent, teacher, and administrator receives a user account on Plus Portals, a comprehensive online resource that allows access to students' individual class requirements, assignments, and grade reports. E-mail notifications convey important information. School Messenger, an automated telephone response system, is used to send phone messages to all families for critical reminders or in the event of an emergency. Messages are also sent via text and email.
Students access class materials through e-books, interactive online books, Google classroom and an online student/parent portal.
Courses are offered in Graphic Design, Cisco certified IT Essentials, Desktop Publishing and Web Design. Academy of Our Lady students are exposed to a broad range of technological programs including Microsoft products, Apple and Adobe Creative Suite allowing them to experience a variety of platforms.
A dedicated MAC lab is utilized by students in both Yearbook and Graphic Design courses. Morning announcements are broadcast every morning from the Academy’s television studio.
