2014 School of Excellence
The Academy of Our Lady was recognized by the Catholic Education Honor Roll as a 2014 School of Excellence by The Cardinal Newman Society on Monday, Sept. 15, 2014. Since 2004 the Honor Roll has celebrated quality Catholic education throughout the United States.
Honor Roll schools receiving this designation are marked by the integration of Catholic identity throughout all aspects of their programs, and excellence in academics. Less than five percent of the Catholic high schools in the United States receive this designation.
Academy of Our Lady, formed in 2007, is regarded as an innovative Catholic high school for its program academic majors and use of technology in the classroom.
“Since its inception in 2007, Academy of Our Lady has prided itself on offering a quality Catholic High School Education for girls in the New Orleans area,” said Principal Sr. Michelle Geiger. “It is an honor to be recognized for the hard work and dedication of our faculty, staff and students.”
This year’s Honor Roll schools are diverse: large and small, new and long-established. The common trait is an institutional commitment to providing a truly integrated and faithful Catholic education across all disciplines and in all areas of student activities.
