Academy of Our Lady Hits Broadway

Academy of Our Lady students recently took a week-long trip to New York City where they took part in dramatic and improvisation workshops,  toured historic sites, attended Broadway plays, and got a behind the scenes tours of Radio City Music Hall.

The Riley Talent Agency gave the group its first workshop on improvisation, followed by the Broadway production of Wicked, after which the students met the cast.  Radio City Music Hall gave the students the opportunity to speak with a Rockett and to get the inside story of what it means to be part of this world-famous dance company.  They then were invited to watch the Rockettes rehearse for their spring performance, Heart and Lights.  The Broadway show Aladdin brought the magic of Broadway to life!

Stops at Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, FAO Schwartz, Times Square, the Statue of Liberty, and the World Trade Center Memorial rounded out the experience.
