The Academy Attends Installation of U.S. Attorney

Academy of Our Lady Law and Civil Leadership students attended the Ceremonial Investiture of Kenneth Allen Polite, Jr. as United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana.Those in attendance included U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, Louisiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Bernadette Johnson, Senator Mary Landrieu, Xavier University President Norman Francis, and Archbishop Gregory Aymond.

Mr. Polite addressed those present focusing on the connection between education and the criminal justice system, and his commitment to the community. The event took place at Cohen College Preparatory High School in New Orleans.

Law and Civil Leadership is a component of the Program of Academic Majors offered by the high school.  In this major, students learn the inner-workings of law firms, courtrooms, and legislatures.  They interace tiwh legal professional, public office holders, and other involved in civic careers.
