Summer @ the Academy is an enrichment program for girls and boys in grades 4th through 7th designed to spark creativity and engage the mind! For 2012 the program has been re-designed to meet the needs of parents on the West bank looking for summer activities when traditional summer day camps are not in session and the camps are being offered to girls and boys. Only two one-week camps will be offered during the summer. The first camp will run May 28 through June 1 and the second camp will run July 30 through August 3.
Summer @ the Academy’s Science with a Twist is the first camp to be held May 28 through June 1. This camp is a great way for kids to learn about science from hands-on, real life experiences and activities rather that from text books. Each day of the week focuses on a different scientific topic. Sessions include: robotics, forensics, chemistry, ecology, and zoology.
Summer @ the Academy’s Sports Spectacular is the second camp to be held July 30 through August 3. Each day a different sport is covered! During morning sessions, campers go over the fundamentals. In the afternoon, campers divide into teams for tournament play! All skill levels are welcomed. Sessions include: basketball, volleyball, soccer, softball/indoor ball, and wacky Olympics.
All sessions are held on the campus of Academy of Our Lady. Camp hours are 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. daily with before care and aftercare available. Another great thing about Summer @ the Academy is that you can sign up for a full-week or individual days. How's that for flexibility!
Camp fees and deadlines:
Cost is $140 per week of camp plus a one-time $25 non-refundable registration fee. Daily camp rates are available for $30 plus a one-time $10 non-refundable registration fee. Before care and aftercare daily rate is $5.00 each. Campers are to bring a bag lunch. Concessions will be available for purchase. Visit www.theacademyofourlady.org for more information. Registration deadline is May 4, 2012. Full payment is due two weeks prior to the start of camp.
