Closest the the hole winner J. Roman with Sr. Michelle
The annual Penguin Classic Golf Tournament at Stonebridge Golf Club on October 30 was a hole-in-one for our school family. Teams enjoyed a beautiful autumn afternoon on the course and a festive meal in the club house afterward. Winning team members were Mossy Mueller, Dawayne Foret, Joe Foret and David Duhe. Aaron Gossell won the long drive contest on Hole 10, and J. Roman won the closest to the pin contest that was held on Hole 5.
More than $13,000 was raised for the Academy’s programs through this annual event, and thanks are due to all of the participants and the many volunteers who made it possible. Academy of Our Lady cheerleaders and dance team members were on site to offer help and provide baked treats for golfers.
Also, many generous local supporters helped make the day possible. The school offers its thanks to Burgdahl & Graves Architects, Sizeler Thompson Brown Architectural Group, Acadiana West Animal Clinic, Ferdie’s Printing Service, the Gretna Police Benevolent Association, Gym Matrix, Hydra Force LLC, Immaculate Conception School, IO Marine Systems, Madere Towing, the Salesians of Don Bosco at Archbishop Shaw High School, Twin Tire, Coca Cola, Marque’s Food, Roofing Supply, TLC Pharmacy, Flowers Bakery, Lafitte Frozen Foods Inc. and New Orleans Style Fishing Charters.
