Graduation Class 2011

One hundred and eleven graduates were awarded diplomas at the Academy’s fourth commencement ceremony on May 17 at the Alario Center in Westwego.

Katie Lynn Neil of Marrero was valedictorian for the Class of 2011, and Racquel Evelyn Gibson of Gretna was the salutatorian. 

In addition to Neil and Gibson, students who graduated with honors included Haley Burke, Hailey Faucheaux, Kim Tram Thi Vo, Anwar Kaki, Kaleigh Cotten, Kayla Berggren, Thuy-Duyen Dawn Le, Reem Rimawi, Phyllis Cu, Melissa Palmisano, Cecilia Estep, Dinh-Van Arianna Tran, and Katherine Silva. 

A number of awards were presented to graduates at the commencement ceremony and at the Baccalaureate Mass held earlier the same day at Immaculate Conception Church. Those awards included the following:

The Golden Scepter Award: Katie Neil and Megan Ballmann
The Fiat Voluntas Tua Principal’s Award: Kaleigh Cotten and Katherine Silva
The American Legion Award: Kaleigh Cotten
Knights of Columbus Patriotic Award: Cecilia Estep
Catholic Youth Leadership Awards: Krista Achor, Kaleigh Cotten, Cecilia Estep, Brooke Pizani, and Katherine Silva.
Woodman of the World American History Award: Racquel Gibson
Italian American Society of Jefferson Scholarship: Madeline Kornman
Rotary Club Award: Katie Neil
