The Academy family gathered for reverential May Crowning ceremonies on May 6, and the day was marked by an assembly that featured prayer and song in the gym.  The entire student body gathered in the gym early in the day, and members of the junior class were featured participants.  Junior officers led the assembly and placed a crown of flowers upon a statue of the Blessed Mother.  The officers of each of the remaining classes came forward and were given crowns that were placed on statues of Mary on Avenue D by the K.C. Hall, on Sixth Street near the library, and in a small courtyard near the school chapel.
