Spirit Week

Sunny skies and an abundance of spirit by more than 500 students made Field Day 2011 a huge success. Students from grades 8 through 12 gathered on the ICS playground and went head-to-head in more than a dozen events in their last chance to earn spirit points for this school year. Competitors gave their all in games that included the football toss, broad jump, pushups, cup stacking, shuttle run, sit ups, rope jumping, and the water balloon toss. When the day was over, students from every class had displayed outstanding spirit and energy.
Field Day was the conclusion of Spirit Week. The week included four other days of fun games and dress-down opportunities. Students dressed in colorful costumes on Maui Monday, Toga Tuesday, Wah-Wah Wednesday, and Prepare for Battle Thursday.
Just prior to dismissal on Friday, the Academy family gathered in the gym as the game winners from Spirit Day were recognized and as the final spirit total for the year was announced. The winners? The twelfth graders finished first in a very competitive battle and thus earned the Spirit Megaphone. The 8th grade finished in second.
Congratulations to all of the students who showed school spirit, and thanks to the Student Council members and staff members who put in many hours of work to make Spirit Week a success!
