Jennifer Kenyon wins Four Events at District Track Meet

Jennifer Kenyon finished first in four events for the Penguins at the District 10-5A varsity track championships.  Jennifer won the triple jump, the high jump, the 100 meter hurdles, and the 300 meter hurdles.  Her time of 49.18 in the 300 meter hurdles was her best of the season.

Other Penguins who turned in exceptional performances included:

  • Y-Nhi Vu finished first in the discus throw and fifth in the shot put.  
  • Jade Lee won the 100 meter dash and finished second in the 100 meter hurdles.
  • Re’Shea Garrison finished third in the javelin throw.
  • Britney Toups finished fourth in the long jump and second in the 100 meter run. 
  • Taylor King finished second in the triple jump.
  • Abby Wilson finished fifth in the 1600 meter run.
  • Katie Neil finished fifth in the 800 meter run and fifth in the 3200 meter run. 
  • Tia Williams finished second in the 400 meter run.
  • Kaitlin Fortuna finished second in the 200 meter run. 
  • The team of Britney Toups, Taylor King, Kaitlin Fortuna, and Jade Lee finished third in the 4x100 meter relay.
  • The team of Hunter Picard, Heather Davis, Katie Neil, and Tia Williams finished third in the 4x400 meter relay.

The Penguins finished third overall in the varsity meet, and the junior varsity team finished first overall in its competition. Five varsity team members qualified for field events in the regional championships, and five Penguins also qualified for track events in the regionals.
