Broadway Concert

The Academy’s annual “Broadway Concert” treated our family to some of the best music to ever come from American stage shows. All of the Academy student vocal groups participated, and they sang songs from hit musicals such as “The Music Man,” “The Sound of Music,” “The Phantom of the Opera,”
and “Sister Act.” Cantate, Chorus, and Bel Canto joined to perform a number of songs, and Rihanna Jordan, sophomore, offered a solo on “Point of No Return.” Other soloists included Brooke Bourgeois, junior, who sang “Don’t Rain on My Parade” from the play “Funny Girl,” and Alysia Crowley, junior, sand “Maybe This Time” from the play “Cabaret.” Mrs. Louise LaBruyere, music teacher, accompanied singers on piano, and local musician Brenda Castillo accompanied singers on drums. The next chorus concert will be coming up in April, so don’t miss out on that one.
