Spanish Students Study Latin Dancing

Students in Spanish 1 classes taught by Mrs. Marina Gomez were up on their feet this week and dancing to the sounds of music from Central and South America. Suzanne Aguillon, a West Bank resident and friend of Mrs. Gomez, visited Spanish classes and taught students how to dance the cumbia, a traditional dance style from Colombia; the meringue, a dance with roots in the Dominican Republic; and salsa, a traditional dance from Cuba. Students learned the various steps needed for the dances and also became familiar with the differing styles of music that accompanied each dance.
