When is a poem more than merely a poem? That happens when students create "concrete poetry" in Mrs. Debbie Vachetta's English 5 class!  Students were assigned to compose original poems and then create a visual object to help bring the poetry to life.  The result is a project that brings creative writing into "concrete," or visual form.  The students read their original poems in class and then turned in their projects on February 1st. This is an annual project in Mrs. Vachetta's class. Here's a look at only a few of the many great projects produced by our English 5 students.
