Basketball and Soccer Games Begin
Temperatures are chilly, but winter sports are heating up at the Academy. Our soccer team is off to a great start with a record of five wins and one loss through the games of December 3. New soccer coach Jessica Tejada is leading a spirited group of players this year, and the Penguins are striving to assert themselves when district competition begins. Inside the gym, our varsity basketball team is also showing hustle and pride. During Thanksgiving week the Varsity basketball team competed in the Academy of the Sacred Heart “Round Cardinal” Tournament. The team defeated Benjamin Franklin High School, Lusher High School and host Academy of the Sacred Heart during the round-robin event. Coach Craig Kirtland is once again guiding our basketball players through another exciting season.
