“Because the Salesian Sisters have a dedication to working with youth, they are more comfortable to be around, easier to relate to and connect to the kids wonderfully. They’re the cornerstone in an education to be proud of.”— an Academy parent
Service Week
During the last week of January Academy of Our Lady celebrates our Founders Feast Day in true Salesian Style. Don Bosco always instilled in the young the sense of service before self. Every student, along with their teachers have a chance to go out and give a full day of service in the community.
The students sign up for the service project of their choice. Along with a group of their classmates they live the Academy's vision of responsible citizenship. Whether it was working with the elders of our community, planting or cleaning at the national or city park, gutting and painting homes, or helping abandoned dogs, they learned what it means to be an element of change in their community.
