National Honor Society
The purpose of the National Honor Society of Academy of Our Lady is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in the students of our school.
In order to qualify as members of the National Honor Society at Academy of Our Lady, students must maintain a 3.75 GPA on a weighted scale and have taken at least two honors or AP courses during 10th through 12th grade. Students must also actively participate in at least two clubs or school activities, perform quality service hours in accordance with Religion Department guidelines, and have no major disciplinary infractions. New members are selected each fall by a Faculty Committee.
NHS Tapping took place on October 29th. NHS also sponsors a Thanksgiving Food Drive from November 9 through November 20th. In the spring, NHS hosts the Academic Fair- an academic completion for local Catholic elementary schools. The Academic Fair is tentatively scheduled for March 6th, 2010.
