The English Department focuses on the study of language, composition, and literature as a means to develop in the students the ability to think independently, write fluently, speak confidently, view discerningly, and problem-solve effectively.  This gives the students the skills they need to become life-long learners and to secure their success as responsible citizens in society.

Summer reading provides an excellent opportunity for you to stay connected to literature, to enhance your literacy skills and to read for pleasure. Please use to help you select books within your ZPD range.

Once you have completed reading a book, come to the Academy of Our Lady Library with your ID, username and password to take the quiz.

The Academy of Our Lady Library will be open on the following days this summer for AR reading and vocabulary quizzing:

June 14, 2016

July 13, 2016

July 19, 2016

July 28, 2016

August 8, 2016

Students will not be allowed to take a quiz for AR summer reading credit after 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 8, 2016.
